SSL Definition, Secure Sockets Layer is a protocol designed to enable applications to transmit information back and forth securely. Applications that use the Secure Sockets Layer protocol inherently know how to give and receive encryption keys with other applications, as well as how to encrypt and decrypt data sent between the two.
SSL Certificate
Any website that transfers critical information (such as credit card data) needs to be equipped with an SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt data as it passes from one place to another. Our software includes SSL protocol with the following features:
- Secure Back-Office access (login and password)
- Unique tokens in Back Office and Front OfficePassword encryption in database for added security
- Resistance to attempted database attacks, as well as placement of blocks on repeated password recovery attempts
